Name: Sandra Tarsi
Race: Human
Clan/ethnic group: Norse
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Sandra is your typical Norse women at 5ft8 with a rather slight build and quite weak. As it is she can barely draw her crossbow into position for loading without having to fight it for five minutes. Her eyes are twin pools of brown that her hair has half hidden underneath a hood of is a jet black, framing her face with two long strands, the rest is tied into a low ponytail by a band of gold colored thread reaching just past her mid-back. For facial features, Sandra has high cheek bones and a thin nose that gives her the look of staring down at everyone as if she's better then them.
On her fore-head is a tattoo of her village's symbol marking her as a mage (A vertical icicle with a small crown of smaller ones surrounding it, normally hidden underneath an overhang of hair) Seeing as she's used to the freezing cold north, her clothes are lighter then most would expect. Her top is a blue almost black color with wide open sleeves and a thick band of gold for trim on the edges, over top this she wears a grey sleeve less vest. Around her waist is a wide light blue sash and leather belt that's hung a little sideways, covering her legs is a thin long skirt that meets her ankles in the same colors as her shirt. Finally Sandra wears a heavy fur cape and hood made of arctic fox that contrasts with everything else and a pair of brown laced leather boots.
Mental Description: Sandra is most likely the strongest willed and determined person you will ever meet. If she wanted revenge on someone badly enough, she could die and not care, a trait she inherited from her mothers side. From her father she obtained something that few would expect to be in his family, and that was magic, and the superiority complex that came with it. Frequently she's been known to asses her will on others whether they liked it or not. But generally she can be summed up as a nice person you don't want to get into an argument with.
Personal History: Born in the northern realms of the world, Sandra has grown around the world of ice and shadow in a unique way. Her family consisting of her parents, three brothers and five sisters, (Sandra being fifth eldest after her brothers and two sisters) lived out in the remotest, and barest part of the arctic imaginable. Her father and three brothers were the hunters of the family, while her mother and sisters took care of "The Cave" as they called it (their home was actually in a large cavern) Sandra's role was one that only that she was able to preform, and that was to magically reinforce ice for her fathers hunting trips.
At a young age Sandra was noted for always having an unusual cold draft about her. It was when she accidentally (And unknowingly) turned a steaming hot bucket of water meant for a bath, into solid ice, that her family's first suspicions were aroused. She went running to her mother and showed her what she did and when asked to do it again she was unable to and so it was dismissed as a prank. It was several years later (When she was nine) that her powers made themselves known once more. When her dad took her out for a fishing trip on the ice floes one day, the sheet that they were traveling on began to crack beneath their feet. Her father fell through first and in a panic, Sandra from some unknown instinct, flung out her hands where a wave of liquid blue light streamed fourth and froze the water under her dads feet before he was totally submerged. After knowing he would be safe, and not knowing how she was doing it, Sandra did the same to the rest of the cracking ice before passing out.
Since that day, she meditated in the rear of "The Cave" for three hours a night, at most achieving a thin layer of ice that could've been caused by the natural cold. After a year passed she managed to fully freeze half a mug of water in front of her parents eyes. Proud at discovering a mage in the family (And quite bewildered becuase her father thought that the line of magic in his family died with his great great grandfather) they gave her one of the few books in the families possession that was a self styled ritual manual written by her great great grandfather. Her dad intended to pass it onto her when she was older anyway as a family heirloom, but seeing as she was a mage he gave it to her then.
From another years study Sandra learned much of her great great Grandfather Richard. Instead of it being just a manual, it doubled as a journal to. Unable to read the strange writing's the rituals were written in, she read the journal part instead. Apparently he was known amongst locals of the north as Richard of the Frozen Death, further reading discovered that it was becuase of his remarkable ability for summoning powerful Blizzards. Harnessing his powers he destroyed many port towns and sunken many more ships, the reason he stated was "...The North is an unforgiving place, the fools, cant they see that all I want is to do is protect them?..." Protect them from what Sandra never discovered, but he sure had an odd way of protecting people. According to his writing he was later captured and exiled to the deepest regions of the Arctic with his surviving family. Maybe that was why they lived out in the middle of no where? Reading on Richard described how to unlock the code of the ritual magic and ended with this passage:
"To the reader, if you are reading this then I can only assume that you are family or else a very powerful mage who knows how to dispel Blood Books (Meaning only those of my blood can read it FYI if this knowledge has been forgotten) As you can see from my rampages I was quite cruel in life. All I can do is hope you learned the lesson and method to my madness.
To you my family, I hope I have not damned you all to these wastes. If so then I can rest peacefully knowing you will only grow strong, or that you'll soon be joining me hehe.
Richard of the Frozen Death.
P.S Try spell thirty five, (not ritual thirty five) on a loaf of bread (Or when its baking for best results)
A truly odd man.
Choosing to ignore the purpose that the ritual spells were created for, Sandra began experimenting in the powers that Richard once used to create his storms. Her first attempt was botched and brewed up one nasty piece of work, instead of creating a light snowfall, she created a rainstorm with lightening that lanced down all around the cave they lived in, almost killing her youngest sister. When her parents found out it was her that caused such unnatural weather, her father remembered the tales his dad told him of Richard and noticed connections to Sandra that this was how Richard started out and had her thrown out. Not being totally heartless he took her for a week long journey to the nearest village and left her with his crossbow, Richards book, the cloths on her back, and what little money the family had.
From there Sandra's been slowly wandering south her whole life, self styling her magic as she goes. Recently she's been catching up on world events while traveling, now she resides in the town of Dunar, practicing her minor ice spells and giving the kids cold treats such as icicles on hot days.
Equipment: Sandra carries very little with her, she only has Richards Ritual book and her fathers heavy crossbow with its blue colored stock and gold Arctic Tern painted in the middle as major items of note. Otherwise she's self sufficient and earns enough with her magic to survive.
